Note Sniper is a music practice tool that displays notes, listens for instrument pitch, and tracks practice results. The app works without a Note Sniper account. Its microphone processing and practice history operate on your device.
With your Android microphone permission, Note Sniper temporarily accesses sound to detect pitch, evaluate tuning, and measure practice response times. Audio samples are processed in memory on your device. The app does not save audio recordings, upload audio, or send audio to the developer or another service. Microphone capture stops when the app leaves the foreground or the practice round ends.
You can deny or revoke microphone permission in Android Settings. Live pitch detection and automatic assessment require this permission.
The app stores settings and practice results in its private local storage. These may include instrument and note selections, practice mode, tuning tolerance, appearance preferences, session dates, response times, tuning measurements, skipped notes, and use of note or fingering reveals. These records support session summaries, replay, and progress charts. They are not transmitted to the developer.
This version contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party crash-reporting services. It does not request Internet permission or transmit practice data, audio, or device identifiers to a server. It does not sell or share your practice data. There are no user accounts, social features, or cloud synchronization services in the app.
Practice history and settings remain on your device until removed. To erase all of the app's local data, use Android Settings, open Note Sniper's app information, and select Storage or Storage & cache, then Clear storage or Clear data. Menu names vary by device. This resets saved history and settings. Uninstalling normally removes the app's local data as well.
The app does not operate its own cloud backup service, and Android app backup is disabled in its configuration. Separate device migration, manufacturer services, or copies you make are controlled by your device and service settings.
Local storage is subject to Android's app-access protections. No device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Because the developer does not receive your local practice history, the developer cannot retrieve it or delete it remotely.
If you purchase or download Note Sniper through Google Play, Google handles that transaction and related store services under its own policies. The app does not collect payment-card details. Android, Google Play, or your device manufacturer may process installation, transaction, or system diagnostic information independently of the app under their respective settings and policies.
If you choose to email the developer, your email address and the information you send will be used to respond to your request, maintain support correspondence, and meet applicable legal obligations. Correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. Email is handled by the email providers involved; this is separate from automatic data collection by the app. Avoid sending sensitive information or recordings unless needed for your request. You may ask for deletion of support correspondence at the contact address above, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Note Sniper is intended for school-age musicians, including elementary-school children, as well as teenagers and adults. Younger users may use the app with help from a parent, guardian, or teacher. The same local-only audio processing and local practice storage described above apply to all users. The app does not request names, ages, account details, school details, photos, or other identifying information, and does not transmit children's audio or practice history to the developer. It has no advertising, chat, public profiles, or public sharing. Parents or guardians may revoke microphone access or clear local app data through Android Settings.
Children should ask a parent or guardian to contact support. Parents, guardians, and adult teachers should not send children's identifying details, photos, voices, or recordings. If the developer learns that support correspondence contains unnecessary personal information from a child under 13, that information will be deleted rather than retained for ongoing correspondence, except where retention is legally required. Parents or guardians may contact the privacy address above with questions or requests. The developer cannot remotely access or delete practice history that remains on the device.
If the app's data practices change, this policy and the Google Play disclosures will be updated. Any new permissions, disclosures, or consent required for a new feature will be addressed before that feature accesses the relevant information. The effective date above identifies the policy version.
